Title: The Rope
Author: Nevada Barr
Genre: Suspense/Mystery
Synopsis: I've read everything this author has written, so I ordered this book on my Nook without even thinking about it. Her main character is Anna Pigeon, and this book is actually the BEGINNING of the series even though it's coming out now. It sets the stage for all the other adventures of Anna Pigeon, and let's the reader know more about her past. It's very good, suspenseful, and I want to know what happens, dang it!
My rating: *** 1/2

Just started Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys. I don't really know anything about it. I'll let you know how I like it!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of that title so I'm interested; do let me know if you like it!
DeleteMy next book is going to be, "An Invisible Thread: The True Story of an 11-Year-Old Panhandler, a Busy Sales Executive, and an Unlikely Meeting with Destiny" by Laura Schroff. A friend at church had read The Language of Flowers as well, and recommended this one for my next read. I don't have it yet, but a trip to the library is in order, and soon!
ReplyDeleteI had lost track of Nevada Barr! I love her writing. Back to my book journal, since I seem unable to remember what I've read and whom I admire from time to time. I've read a bunch in the past year without posting in my journal...dang.
ReplyDeleteI recently finished Stephen King's 11/22/63 about good intentions and unintended consequences. This is King at his best, setting up a great story line and following it through to a rational and satisfying conclusion. No giant spiders in this one! On the heels of that, I'm reading his collection, Full Dark, No Stars. A few smaller stories; some violence & revenge, but still a dark and spooky read without gore. So far...
I could never read Stephen King, he's just too dark for me, I guess.Maybe I should give him another try. :-)
